2015 Nobel Peace Prize:
2015 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet for "Its decisive contribution to the building of a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia in the wake of the Jasmine Revolution of 2011.


Nobel Prize in Literature:
Svetlana Alexievich of Belarus wins 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature
Author Svetlana Alexievich has been
selected for prestigious 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Swedish Academy has selected Svetlana for her polyphonic writings, courage and a monument to suffering.
She became 14th women Literature Laureate and she is also the first writer from Belarus to receive this award.

Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine-2015:
The Nobel Prize 2015 in Physiology or Medicine jointly went to William C. Campbell, Satoshi Omura, and Youyou Tu.
Mr. Campbell and Mr. Omura won it for "their discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites", while Ms. Tu won it for "her discoveries concerning a novel therapy for malaria."
Mr. Campbell and Mr. Ōmura discovered a new drug, Avermectin, the derivatives of which have radically lowered the incidence of River Blindness and Lymphatic Filariasis.
Youyou Tu discovered Artemisinin, a drug that has significantly reduced the mortality rates for patients suffering from Malaria.

Angus Deaton wins Nobel prize in economics:
British-born economist Angus Deaton has won the 2015 economics Nobel Prize for "his analysis of consumption, poverty and welfare”.
Angus Deaton, aged 69, is based at Princeton, where he researches health, wellbeing, and economic development. He is the Dwight D Eisenhower professor of economics and international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Nobel Prize 2015 in Chemistry jointly went to Tomas Lindahl(UK), Paul Modrich(US) and Aziz Sancar(US).
Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has
chosen them for their research on mechanistic studies of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) repair.
Their work has provided fundamental knowledge of functioning of living cell functions and its application for the development of new cancer treatments.
They will receive the award at the annual award ceremony to be held on December 10, 2015 on the anniversary of the death of prize founder Alfred Nobel.
All the three laureates will share the prize money of 8 million Swedish kronor equally.
