APSCHE in collaboration with the British Council is ensuring that the youth of Andhra Pradesh brushes up their English communication skills. They are progressively stepping towards the development of employability skills as well as grooming of our hard working students. 1. What is the objective of this program?
To realise the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri. N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu, to transform the State of Andhra Pradesh Pradesh into a knowledge hub, Department of Higher Education , AP State Council of Higher Education have collaborated with British Council to impart soft skills and communication training to 1 lakh students across the state.
It is an English and employability course “Learn English Select” designed by British Council, the world’s English language expert. With this programme, students will develop English language skills and required proficiency to excel at their workplace.
2. What is the course content and how is it beneficial for the students?
This program provides 50 hours of online training supplemented by 100 hours of face to face training.
The training comprises of all the four components of communication - Reading, Speaking, Listening & Writing. It also includes English communication, soft skills training, interviews training and resume writing among other things. This program puts special thrust on practical training through new and innovative teaching methodologies and is aimed towards improving the employability skills of the students.

Among other things, this programme will the help students to:
Learn how to apply for a job and to successfully perform in an interview
Perform better at work
Communicate successfully at work, learn how to make effective presentations, participate actively in meetings and write work emails
Increase confidence
Speak with more confidence in English to large audiences at work with customers and clients
Increased chances of getting a job in the employment market

Students successfully completing this program will be provided certificates by British Council recognised by the recruiters
3. Who will provide the training?
Online trainings will be delivered by the British Council consultants through its online portal. Each individual registered student will have a unique username and password for accessing the online content. Face to face trainings will be provided by teachers who were extensively trained by British Council experts.
4. Who all are eligible to register for this program?
Currently, this program is only available to students enrolled in 184 participating institutions. Please check the list here - Participating Institutions.
As of now, students of following courses can register on our website www.apenglishskills.in.
B.E/BTech - 2nd/3rd year students
MBA - 1st/2nd year students
MCA - 1st/2nd year students
NOTE : Moving forward, this course might be opened for other colleges and subsequently more students will be able to register for this Course. We will keep you posted.
5. When will this program begin?
The 8 months long course program will tentatively commence from the month of September, 2017.
6. Where will the training sessions take place?
Face to face component of the trainings will take place in the colleges itself. Registered students can access the online content in their computer labs or any other place with access to computer and internet.
7. What will be the timings of the training and how many hours per day?
The class timings and weekly timetable for this course will be communicated to the registered students shortly.
8. Is there any fees for the program?
For obtaining British Council certification, students will have to pay only Rs.360. through our website (www.apenglishskills.in/). Students who undergo the 8 month training without paying the certification fee will NOT be given the British Council certificate after the completion of the course.
9. How can I pay for the British Council Certification by cash?
Students are required to do the following in order to register using Pay by Cash option:

  1. Students shall register online and select “Pay Cash Rs. 360” option on the registration page.
  2. Subsequently, registered students will receive an email confirmation along with the details of the Nodal Officer of their respective college.
  3. Students shall print two copies of the confirmation email and sign on both of them.
  4. Students shall pay the certification fee of Rs.360 (cash) to the Nodal Officer as mentioned in the email within 3 days of online registration
  5. Students shall take the signature of the Nodal officer on both printed copies of the confirmation email
  6. For future reference, students and Nodal officer shall keep one signed copy of the confirmation email

They include firing lasers into the asteroid. Crashing a spacecraft into an approaching asteroid is another possibility. As is detonating a bomb next to an incoming object. There is no risk at the moment though. NASA can't detect any asteroid currently heading towards us. No large object is likely to strike for at least several hundred years.
